Scratchpad content gone after SD crashes

Although obviously SkyDemon isn't designed to crash, the contents of the scratchpad aren't designed to persist to permanent storage either. We would look at adding code to persist its contents if enough people told us they wanted its contents to persist from one run of the app to the next, but clearly, that hasn't happened so far.

Well, it happened several times since my test-phase that content was lost after a crash. Maybe SD isn´t "designed to crash" but maybe an iPad or other device can crash. Anyway: crashes happen. I my case it happened and the implementation of a scratchpad in my opinion doesn´t make sense when information gets lost without the users decision to delete it.

Hi forum,

while exploring SD I discovered that the scratchpad-content is lost if SD crashes. Crashes happend some time I used SD when swiping and zooming around with charts and so on. Maybe I overloaded my iPad 3 with calculating terrain, zooming the charts here and there in short intervals.

Anyhow, would it be possible to make the scratchpad-content ‌‌restoreable after a SD-crash?

Kind regards,
